Yes, you got it near about right. The name was borne in the pub when Paul Lewis and I were discussing doing a one-off invitational jet event to try and attract the type of jets we both favour (the classic early jets) to the birthplace of the World's Jet Meets (Abingdon). It was to be a one-off, but we did a second, then Paul got diverted elsewhere, so I carried on with the intention of maybe doing a couple more...didn't quite go to plan - 10 years has gone by and tomorrow's is the 40th.
I have the gate list here from the first CJ, and your name's on it! Of interest is the fact that Gordon Whitehead, who organised the first ever jet meet way back in 1981, will be there tomorrow too (along with the other 54 pilots and 100+ pit crew that're booked in).
