Fred,
In reference to #s 12 and 13 on your list of upgrades..I certainly agree that the reduction drive could use some tweaking..When I bought my kit, it didnt have the gear or the reduction drive, and I was able to go out and get used equipment..I bought both the gear and the RD from the same guy..He had a machine shop upgrade the RD with a lip behind the belt, as well as an extra brace..
The connection with the clamps seems to be the major issue with mine in terms of what will be likely casue of major vibration....Mine is only a 35, and I thought about going to B&B to get a 42..and considered asking him to do the swap and see if he would address the issue with the rubber hose and those two clamps..Id certainly be interested to know of someone who could address that..I havent spoken to B&B so Im not sure if hed do it..
Engine link to B&B..the only place I was able to find the Quadra..

Ive followed the scale warbird prop drive site but it doesnt look like its going to happen.. Also heat in the engine compartment was going to need to be addressed..looks like you found a good soluton..

Also with the gear, mine has wooden blocks out the outter tabs with the gear up..I was told that this was a mod that helped with potential problems with the stock gear, however not sure what that was..(I wound up going with Sierra, as its much nicer and it was just about a bolt in..)
Heres a shot of the upgrades to the RD (so Im told as I never saw another one otherwise..)(and those two frame jarring clamps..) and the gear..
