Default RE: Too pretty to maiden?

Hey Brett,

At 10,000 rpm and 6" of pitch your prop air speed will be 56.8 MPH. With drag this will
give you about 48 MPH level flight, your stall speed might be around 25 mph or maybe
more so let it build up plenty of speed before you yank it off the ground. Also get your
self a small fish scale and tie it down and measure the max thrust. Weigh the plane with
a full tank and see what the thrust to weight ratio is. This will tell you what to expect
when you pull it off the ground. This will also give you time to get the OS running perfectly.
If it is not, get it right first. I have seen many first flights end with a dead stick.
You probably know all this but thought I would try to help. Keep us posted! and good luck, Tim
