I used a product called Citra Strip. It is avalable at Home Depot You put it on and 30 minutes later you can use a squegee to scrap of the paint.

I use Citra Strip also. Great stuff, isn't as caustic as some paint strippers, and doesn't damage the fiberglass etc. Works really well, and takes all the hard work out of stripping paint down. Very messy job though. It has quite a strong smell, so use in a well ventillated area and wear a respirator mask. A little goes a long way, but sometimes on stubborn/darker paints, you need to hit it 2 or 3 times, but do biggie, as you just paint it on with a paint brush and leave for 30 mins or longer (the longer the better).
