Jet Central Problems ... warantee???
My JET Central problems began when it first arrived... My Super bee,all 2600 dollars arrived DOA and Eric got out another ECU and Pump and all to me and when it arrived I had more problems... wouldn't even turn over. I got it running finally and the Wing failed on my Junk Shock Jet and in it went. Cant blame jet central for that but when it got back to me it was once again DOA, finally got it going but it never ran right, hot starts, flame outs and failure to even turn over.. I made several calls to Eric and never got a call back... then I actually got a good start and zap, bearing failure.. Of the three attemps to go to the field I never had a flight that didn't either end in it not starting or flame out, or two foot flames out the back as hot starts that wouldn't quit... So I sent it back again... so far over 100 bucks just in ups charges. Also I sent the HAD hand held display in and Eric said he never got it although it was sent Priority mail with delivery confimation.. I guess I am to blame the post man, and assume he stole and fraudently sent the return reciept... ????
Today I get a Bill for 580 dollars for a rebuild on what should be warantee??? they claiming I had a chip in the compressor that was from not using a FOD.. Well I had a 50 dollar fod screen on it and it didn't leak and was full of metal on the inside from the bearing failure???? So much for honesty and warantee... Oh yeah I waited from noon until six pm waiting for a call about adjusting this (todays friday) after about 3 or 4 calls and two emails.... Jet Central makes alot of noise about the LIfe time warantee... and support.. but I am not getting it..
I also get treated like I am an idiot, being female, by them in a very rude way that really is hard to take as I have been in the hobby 45 years and have three doctorates.. I have type ratings in 3 full size jets with a commecial license and flight instructor rating. So I know a little bit about jet engines.
So when making your buying decision don't factor in the questionable "warrantee" and don't send anything without insurance and signature if you want to see it again.
Eric said it wouldn't do me any good to post this because he has such a "good" reputation.. you be the judge.. So far I have spent over 20K on three motors and four planes and right now I have absolutely nothing to fly because of waiting for parts (FlyEagle and Jet Central) and am totally disgusted with the whole lack of morals and standards that isn't typical for the rest of the hobby.. Never have I seen such prices for so little and total disreguard for the customer.. One day this part of the hobby will grow up and things will change hopefully. These people will be out on the street out of business. I remember when the helicopter was so elite and so price wise now we have hundreds of manufactures offering products that don't fly apart at reasonable prices. I have two T Rex 600s that have not needed a part in two years..
I was told by one of the dealer reps that Eric is getting ready to retire and just doesn't care anymore.. I was told by every experience jet pilot that looked at this motor that this should be covered, not to worry, but I did and unfortunately I was right... I don't know about the rest of you but $600 repair on a motor that was operated properly and not abused (mabe 6 flights)in any way is crazy. But I am screwed because I can't abandon a $2600 engine. anyone want a Bee and a Falcon reasonable, I am thru and will never buy another Jet Central anything. I will let you all know if anything changes..
