Default RE: Eric Clapp & Jet Central Service

Katt,

Troy Built ragging Eric? Hmmmm...that's interesting. I can not comment on his pending retirement...since he is already retired and does this for fun. I have had two Jet Cat engines...a P-120 and a P-70. The 120 was sent straight from Jetcat-USA with an out of date ECU and they wanted to charge me to update it (just a flash) even though they shipped it to me out of date so to speak. My P-70 blew itself up at SuperJets a few weeks ago when a known but little talked about problem with the P-70 (I found out about this after it committed suicide) and the RPM sensor failed, causing the engine to overspeed to an estimated 160,000 RPM and then blow up...catch on fire and pretty much turning itself into a round wheel chock. Am I ragging Jetcat? Not really...just letting you know all of these engines have problems now and then...just like in full scale.

My first Jet Central engine I purchased 4 years ago was a Rhino...brand new but from a guy who bought it from Eric and then decided he was not going to use it. I did not know Eric but called him to ask about the warranty and he said it had never been registered so he considered me the first owner. The next day the Rhino sucked an extension down the intake while bench running it at full throttle and I completely destroyed the engine. I sent the engine to Eric...told him I screwed up and ruined my engine because I was screwed up when running it and they replaced the Rhino...no charge under warranty.
