Just a thought regarding the seemingly contradictory facts that there certainly does seem to be FOD, and the claim that a FOD screen was used. I see the following possibilities:
[ul][*] The pic of the damage is from a different turbine, not Kat's.[*] No FOD screen was used ; any claim that one WAS used is an attempt to get a warranty repair for something that is user-error.[*] Something got past the FOD screen - the screen is badly fitting, or it has a hole.[*] The FOD screen itself is the source of the FOD. I have seen this happen a few times, where parts of the FOD screen break off and enter the turbine. I've seen this both with 'quality' FOD screens and with home-made ones. Unless the FOD screen is supplied by the turbine manufacturer, that's not an issue that the turbine manufacturer is responsible for IMO. (I haven't read all the history of this issue, so don't know what source of FOD screen was used.)
