Well, we have just about had it with our messed up city planning board. Yet again the inspector who said we could "Connect" the garage to the house with a brick wall has now said we can not. We again had to go and try to ask for a special exception to this rule by allowing us to build a brick wall to connect it rather than a roof. They made us look like we were ignorant and accused us of manipulating the city of trussville for not wanting to comply with the ordinance. They do not care how much it will cost us to build this roofed walk way to the garage and they also admited that they dont care what it looks like either. All they care about is that we connect it so that the next time we get our house appraised they can raise the value.
They only have one more inspection to sign off on and it really does not matter now even if they do. The shop is completey done, the power is connected and we have begun moving some of our machines inside. It was hard work moving those machines in there because we have several machines such as a Saw Stop, 12" industrial plainer, and a rikon band saw that weigh about 600 pounds each. Then we have several other saws, drill presses and sanders that wheigh about 400 pounds a peice. And that 7 inch step up to the shop floor did not help us either.
