UPDATE:

mmm i found the problem,an old part i used as part of the rebuild,it was slightly bent and cost me an elcon helical gear

the layshaft was bent slightly causing the spur gear to wobble a little...

problem solved,time for an elcon layshaft to match the rest of beetle.
