agreed, and are kits that hard to produce, just thorw a bunch of parts in a box, and the RTR manual sans the rtr blah, oh hey look kit YAY, i'll take it, you can even include all the crappy electronics, i'd still rather put it together than get an RTR
It's not the production that is hard with kits, it's the distribution. The distribution chain is very averse to a product that maybe 1 in 10 customers in a hobby shop will even consider buying, if that (1 in 25? 1 in 100?). Most hobby shops today don't even stock kits, and no distributor is buying products in any numbers that hobby shops don't want to stock, and so on. Everyone in the chain is used to a volume industry and kits just aren't sold in volume, especially now that there is nearly always a RTR alternative to nearly every kit out there.
