Default Glow Engine Information

Istarted collecting detailed info on various glow engines as a way for me to better understand my options. It became painfully apparent how difficult it is to find technical data about engines. As a result I created a spreadsheet with details about engines that were of interest to me - 40 to 60 class airplanes. I published a spreadsheet with my limited scope in another thread "Glow Engine Hard Information" in this forum.

Iplan on publishing 2 different spreadsheets in this thread. The first is one containing Manufacturer information. The two key pieces of information in this spreadsheet are: hyperlink to the manufacture's website (or not ) and a hyperlink to a sales website that can give you an idea of the current cost and availability of the various models. The second is one containing Engine-specific data. It has quite a bit of detailed info that includes model, type, displacement, RCUhyperlink, Mfg hyperlink, HP, bore, stroke, weight of engine &muffler, mounting dimensions and crank sizes. Please be aware that not all of this info is available for all engines. Also, if you see ILB in a column, it means "intentionally left blank"(thanks IBMfor the TLA).

Btw, this stuff is supposed to be in the RCUReview database, but like many databases, it appears that it is not maintained and therefore not current for models and price.

Two different spreadsheets will be attached over a period of time. One will be Manufacturer ##.xls where ## is a version number starting with 01 and incremented by 1 each time it is updated. The other will be EngineAir ##.xls.

Feedback request: If you have additional information that you would like to have included in these spreadsheets don't hesitate to ask. Imay or may not "go there" - but thanks in advance!

HowTo use this thread: Go to the last page with attachments and you will find the most current version of the spreadsheets. Iwill publish the most current of each even if there are no changes to one or the other. That way you have an easy method for finding current info without paging through each post.

Editted: OFCOURSETHERCUUPLOADLOSESTHEFILENAME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey RCadmin (Marc) - can ya do something about this?

Attachment 1:Manufacturer 01.xls
Attachment 2:EngineAir 01.xls

You guys are an invaluable source for the "real" information. If you have background info about any manufacturer or model - this might be an excellent place to add some "notes" to enable newbies (like me)to better understand things like "Magnum &ASPare closely related but are intended for different international markets". Just thinkin' out loud ...
