I have the electric maverick xb 1/10 buggy and would like to get new gears, batteries and maybe a motor too.
The site i want to buy from is [link]http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk[/link] because I live in the UK. on the [link=http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/car/category/Batteries-7-2v-Stick-Packs__17c/]batteries[/link] page i have found two batteries priced at £14.24 but one is 3000mah and the other 2200mah, is the later better somehow? I currently have a 22 turn motor with a 19 tooth to 64 tooth cog setup. Cogs are available from 17-29 tooth and i am thinking of either 23 or 25, is this okay without a motor upgrade. It says that the speed control unit can handle down to 13 turn motors, is any motor down to 13 turn compatible?
Thank you all for your help, any advice whatsoever will be of help to me

Ok to begin with the maverick strada xb, is the same as a Redcat Tornado. So whatever parts you can find for the redcat will fit your maverick ( I know cause i've done it). You can go down to a 13t motor, problem is you have to use a small pinion at least 14t. The problem with the small pinion is that your motor will grind on your shaft. (smaller pinion= less teeth) picture it in your head. Imagine fitting a 14t and look at how much closer your engine will get to the shaft. Again I've tried this! What you can do is the following. Get a 17t brushed motor, whatever brand you want( i have an orion SV2) and use it with a 19t pinion. It will get hot, but its manageable. This will make it really fast compared to the 22t that it came with. As for the battery, a larger Mah rating will make it last longer. The cons to NImh is the weight. If you can get yourself a 7.2v lipo its much better, and lighter, you will need a charger capable of charging lipos, and a esc that has a lipo cutoff, so you dont kill it. It was my first buggy I still have it, and must say its pretty tuff!! What I've done to it is all brushless ( I used a traxxas velineon motor and vxl esc with a 24 or 25 t pinion cant remember) It flyes!! For off road use this particular setup is too much, for on road its wicked fast! Good luck
