OK, since last time I tried the folding 9x5 prop with no success. Turns out the prop hub was shorter than std and I ended up with a 8.5x5 prop. It was only drawing 8A, so I figured there wouldn't be enough power there and I was right. It just extends the glide from my hand a bit.

I've bought a set of 10x6 blades for it, which will actually be 9.5x6 when mounted. If that doesn't work I'll have a slightly used gearox & folding prop set up for sale. I'm not sure I like having the extra weeight of the gearbox on-board anyway. It stresses the back end of the plane a good bit too.

I did try a 6v motor and it's a nice boost in performance. I have no idea why tower went with a 7.2 motor instead of a 6. A lot more customers would have been happy with them if they'd used a 6v.

I've also added LEX's, leading edge extensions like on an F-18. They are about 1" wide and extend up under the TE of the canard. They make the plane more pitch responsive and more stable when stalled. I can get a power off stall, falling straight down - with the plane perfectly level and not spinning. I can also do a full stall landing where the plane pops up about 8 inches, stops completely, and settles onto the grass.
