RE: My New RT5!
Not really an 8 hour build. I built mine over three nights, at max 2 hrs per night. I wasn't in a hurry. Everything is just so easy to do on the build. The shocks are easy, the diff is easy the hardest thing is turnbuckles. It's only a 2wd car so there are not that many pieces to put together. I did spend a lot of time trimming the burrs off of plastic from parts trees.
I got to race again tonight. Only two rounds and I had to leave for home since I had my 5 year old son with me. (They start racing at his bed time) I tried a gearing suggested on another forum and it was not good. Using a Novak 13.5 I tried a 78t spur and 23t pinion. I had no power to pop over some the small doubles on the track. I went back to the stock 82 and 25t pinion and that was better. I had a couple of hot laps and I was happy. With some more track time I will have this thing down! I did figure out how to jump it better tonight and it was amazing. Good times!
