Tried using the 15 amp wire wound around a cotton core because the original wire was beyond salvage. The pump ran and the wire heated the wick which smoked but the red/white power supply wire also heated up and melted the insulation.

Tried again with another smoke unit using 5amp wire bur the pump ran slowly whilst the wire started to burn out. Am using a HL 7.2 battery for a supply.

  Any ideas anyone.
