Default RE: Real Flight G5...

ORIGINAL: goirish

Do you know if my controller RF-3.5 will work with the upgrade? We had a butterfly day yesterday and got several flights in. Even had a cessna 180 land at our field. Grass 560ft long. Was able to lift off before the end of the runway which is surrounded by a cut down bean field.
Gene,
According to the info on Tower's site the upgrade will work with everything from RF3 and up. You use your existing controller with it.

I'm going to throw my 2 cents worth in here. I find it funny how people condemn the entire package because of new features in the software. Yes, they may have added combat, online flying with friends, and other features that some say make this more of a game. However, there is nothing that says you have to use them. The core feature of Realflight is still a flight simulator and can be used as such without having to mess with the other parts of the software. There have parts of Realflight 3 and 4 that Ihave never even clicked on, but Istill use the simulator.

I use the simulator for keeping muscle memory up on flying during times that I can't get to the field. It's a great tool for practing manuevers, as well as working things out on how to do something without having to burn fuel. I'm glad that with RF5 they finally realized that there are those of us out here that simply do not want to pay ANOTHER$200 to get the latest version. At XFCthis year Ivoiced this to some of the people from Knife Edge Software and told them Iwouldn't upgrade again if they required me to buy the full package. I'd like to think they listened to me as they are now offering an upgrade that only costs me $79. Now I'll gladly pay that!!!
