Default WWI scale combat plans

DMHEIL:

Too bad about the rain out. I was out of town and would have missed it anyway. I took my SPAD VII up yesterday for the first time. It was way tail heavy and I barely got it down in one peice but no damage was done. The nose is so short, I have added a Higley heavy hub (3.1 oz), a Higley brass lock plate (.5 oz), a 1 0z nose weight, 2.5 oz of lead right in the nose and a battery that weighs 1 oz more than the original and it now balances right on the back edge of the spar. That is an additional 8.1 ounces of dead weight! If I build another (and I will) I will add an inch to the nose and build up the tail rather than using solid 3/16" stock. I might build up the fuse too.

Who was flying the planes in the photo?
