Anyone have any tips for drilling out holes on the surface of 1/4" aluminum tubes (making the cooling vents in the outer sleeve for a 50 cal gun barrel)?

Seems like it might be hard (impossible, really) to keep the drill bit from wandering on the concave surface without help (depression or divot made with another tool).

I suppose I'll have to do some searching on the forums.
