Default RE: HINGES

Mclina you use my install to a tee. I use a cone shaped deburring tool for the die grinder, except I just use it with my fingers. 3 turns into both surfaces and the knuckle pretty much disappears. I've had CA hinges break on me and replaced them with robarts. Too much CA on the hinge makes it brittle, my theory anyway. Wet the hole with a Q-tip and place a little pacer hinge glue and 30 minutes later your flying. I heat some Vaseline and dip the knuckles in the liquid Vaseline both sides. Had a funfly the next day and the night before went to charge my mustang. Noticed the aileron CA hinge was cracked. Set the alarm for 7:00am and in less then an hour had both sides changed and car packed by 8:30am. Flying the Stang by 9:30. My vote for the 2009 hinge of the year.......Robart.
