RE: NEW DLE30!
Well after reading all about the tilt issue I just HAD to try to get my engine to quit. I haven't fired it up for a month now so I had to cover the carb opening with my thumb, but after that the engine started right up. I found that after it was warmed up and idling for awhile I could pick the plane up, tilt it so the carb pointed straight up, and all angles in between, and it would keep running. BUT, if I held it so the carb was straight up, and then quickly returned the plane to level (carb at 90 degrees) THEN the engine would quit. I'm not sure if I would be in a situation in the air that would duplicate that - I'm sure it's possible. But after a dozen or so flights and a half gallon of fuel it has not quit on me while flying. I will be watching the thread to see what the "fix" is going to be.
