A pulsing motor in a electric plane is usually a safety protection built into the electronic speed control...when the voltage gets too low, it goes into ''safety mode'' it reduces the power to the motor to conserve energy for you to come into land....
that or....
wires arnt soldered well
the esc is being overloaded and going into failsafe to prevent being fried
