If anyone is going to be kicked out of this thread, it will more than likely be me. I'm planning on finishing a Great Planes Illusion which is not a true ''Classic'' pattern plane. I've got a set of Rhom Air trike retracts and a side exhaust YS61 and pipe for it. I'm thinking about doing a build thread (if I'm not kicked out)

I just can't bring myself to accept those statements. Dave Brown's Illusion is as much a classic as most other builds in this forum. In fact, I expect to build mine some time in the future as well so if you're willing to pave the way for a second build, you've already got one avid reader lined up here!
And hey, the worst that can happen with painting is the need for a little extra sand paper...

The good news is that fiberglass is actually a little easier than prepping wood flying surfaces - the glassing is already done!
I'll probably put a YS in mine too. Possibly Multicon electric retracts.
Now if I can only get around to finishing that Tipo... December should be a good month.
