Sounds like quite a project you have going. I didn't measure the landing gear length. I used the stock gear. you could even use larger diameter wheels if ground clearance is a problem. But I don't think you are going to have much trouble with a 15" prop and stock gear. I fly off of buffalo grass. Admittedly it is cut short.
