RE: SCALE JET e-S76 build
Hello folks,
UIH
We waited out the "less than stellar" weather of the morning, and about 2 or 3 o:clock, the sun started peeking through. Waited all day for that.
I did a couple of passes around the pattern a week or so ago, but did not really get the chance fly my Scale Jet 76 around to get a good feel for how it would fly. Well yesterday was the day, off it went 6 minutes of pattern flights.
On the first departure, I had a little "bobble head" on the yaw stick while retracting the gear which startled me. I brought the heli back and started again. After a couple of passes with the gear down I sucked it up and this thing was off and running.
This was also the first flight with the M-Blades main and tail. What a difference they made. The sound, the stability, and the visible coning is really cool. They seem to make the heli feel more nimble, quick, and just an all around lighter feel. Also, the M-Blades are perfect out of the box, CG and weight. There is no stabilizing device installed at this time and it feels very good. With the 90 degree CCPM biased 45 degrees, and the pitch horns also 45 degrees, there is no requirement for swash mixing in the TX, just adjust to the correct phasing with the follower, which by design, places the PC links perfectly straight up and down. Really does not get anymore simple than that.
Here is a vid of yesterdays flight. I am still getting comfortable flying a 30lb heli and it needs some fine tuning here and there but the picture is starting to come together.
Hey Michael, this thing is a rocket man. The faster if flies, the better it flies.
