Default RE: Glow Plug Temperatures

methanols reaction to platinum is an exothermic reaction. heat must be present for the reaction to take place. its described as a catalytic oxidation process, and turns into formaldehyde on the outside of the plug wire, thus keeping the wire hot. then, at a given temperature the heat from the wire ignites the fuel mixture. (pure methanol also burns with a green flame)
