Whether Per reads this thread very often I don´t know...but I might be able to answer your question.
My friend Ivve Hallberg built the 1/5 scale Vampire and crashed it during a landing approach due to too low speed when turning onto the final, according to the vitnesses.... so you have too keep up speed till final!

Thankyou, Pete, for your response. It will be interesting to hear from others how this model behaves close to the stall. My own disposition is to include a degree or two of washout and I'm glad that my good friend and aerodynamics expert, Alasdair Sutherland - who I consult in relation to all my scratch-built large model designs - has followed up our personal discussion by entering this debate.
I hope the designer, Kerry Sterner, might add his insights, too -.
