Default RE: First 4-stroke engine. Help?

ORIGINAL: rgm762

thanks Brad, I'm having problem with 2 magnums, a 52 and a 70, is it also true that mgnums don't transition as good as other 4 strokes?
No, its not true. I found that with both my Magnums they came from the factory with a very rich low end setting. Not sure why, just was. Once I adjusted them as described, they transition as well as any other engine I've ever tried. I think people with transition issues with this engine are just so practiced at making very small adjustments to the low end that they never make enough adjustment. One one of my magnums, I had to lean out the low end almost three turns. If you're only turning 1/8 of a turn at a time and then retesting, it will take a long time. That's the problem I was having, and then I discovered the method to adjust it while running. Took 5 minutes, and haven't touched it in two years.
