RE: Brio with Webra 160
RC11
Does your new Brio look like the photo below? I suspect it does! Assuming that it is, this is from the 2006 AMA NATS. It is a fine flying model built/finished by Dave Guerin.
Quick set-up tips:
1. The throttle/mix servos should be at 90 degrees at mid-throttle and mid throttle curve.
2. Attach fuel tubing to carb while closing mixture arm until air does not come out. This is (0) fuel and may or may not match the factory mark on the carb.
3. Slightly open both throttle/mix and start engine...lots of smoke...rich.
4. Advance the throttle to the next mixuture point (Futaba or JR) and adjust mixture maintaining plenty of smoke (rich). The engine should transition from low to high.
5. Continue through all of the points on your mix curve until engine transitions from low to high.
6. The curve looks like a banana with typically full mixture at high throttle.
The above is generally a one tank of fuel process. If your radio has the option, add a variable mixture slider to adjust the upper part of the mix curve to avoid a very dangerous to the Webra "lean" run.
Props: The photo shows one of Dave Lockhart magic custom (3) blade props. Mike Harrison was puzzled why I did not just run the APC 18" x 10" that he loved on the OS. I never tried it although the pipe may need to be lengthened to smooth out the mid range.
