You're on the money with your price point assessment. I picked up a 150 for a grand pretty much for that reason. The larger 170's from DA and 3w had the previous owner of the 150 in the market for a larger engine. The 100 class engines from DA and 3w really don't have any incentive to move away from their current price levels since they are in high demand in other sectors outside the hobby industry.
