Default RE: tuned pipes for os 35?

I built the MCP [mousse can pipe] that uses the front half [header part] of a stock muffler per the plans at SPAD to the BONE web site. I put it on a OS LA40 with a 11x4 prop and got about a 13-1400 rpm boost out of it. Not too bad, it made the engine capable of 3D with explosive transition.
I suspect the 35 would respond just as well, I wonder if any of the "nay sayers" have ever heard of using liner shims for fine tuning if higher rpm with a "speed type" prop is the goal?
Just about any well made 2 stroke can be tweaked to give surprising results with a little bit of effort and talking with the right people.
