I personally will not use Ebay. This is a small enough community on RCU that your chances of getting stung are much less than hobbyist and non hobbyist on Ebay.
That's kind of what I look for. You can kind of "read between the lines" and tell who is a hobbyist and has used the item, who is a professional business who buys and sells these items
I have a search set up on EBay for Shoestrings. It keeps turning up a guy who wants over 300 dollars for a Berkeley Shoestring, which is a tiny little thing. He artfully shows a photo of part of the box lid, expanded so that it looks like a larger model.
Someone else sold an identical kit a while ago and it just broke 100 bucks if my memory serves.
I'm not saying the guy's a rip-off artist, but he's trying for far more than the model should fetch.
Interestingly, he's not had a bite in about a year, so we're clearly not as stooopid as we all look(?)
