As whatiwork4 mentioned, don't forget all the plans out there. The great thing about building from them is you get to select wood and change anything to your preferred method. I always come in lighter than the originals ( that is my goal).

I sometimes get upset with myself as I change so many things in a kit why did I buy it in the first place? After doing this for so long, I even design some of my own stuff now. I have learned so much from studying the great designs from the past.

I still grab all the kits I can, but I will probably scratch a kit from it and not disturb the original.
