Default RE: New Hitec Aurora 9-Channel 2.4Ghz Radio System

Yak's done with about an hour of programing (rates, expo, throttle cut, timer, EPA (ATV), etc...) this includes the installation of the new receiver in the plane.  Does seem faster than my 8U, I did find something that I'm a little concerned with however, for lack of a better term the CG. It is way to the bottom of the transmitter. I fly with a neck strap and my Futaba hangs perfectly level. The A9 flips to about 45 degrees which means if I let the radio dangle from the strap it flips up to the point the sticks hit my gut. I'm not sure I care for that at all. I took the battery out to see if it helped (lipo would be lighter) but it made little difference. Hitec, Swap the switch and the neck strap mount and I'll be this will help. I must admit I liked the timer display on my 8U better. It was large (when you chose to display it) and I could simply lift my radio close to my line of sight to see how much time I had on the ticker. This timer is small and at the R/H side of the display, and by the way don't touch it during flight or it will reset!!! Futaba requires you to press 2 buttons to reset the timer. Certainly no show stoppers but I'll bet my first flight with the Yak will feel just like the maiden. The programming is simply wonderful, it's been fun adding my 1st plane to the radio, I'll try a heli in the near future and put it to the test.
