RE: Official F27 Stryker Part 8: Beginners to Custom Darkness
louierc,
Yes you can start with a MEGA and make it behave any which way you like with change of a prop.
All of those packs can be run in a Stryker. I assume your 4200 is 15C Prolite for 63A rating....
For 3S-5S operations you can run the following 2 motors.
16/25/3 1700KV
Its max power while on 3S will be 8" prop, closer to your hand during launch.
You can series (2) identical 3S packs for 6S flight if they are not more than 50mm or so placed side by side...other configuration possible.
Capable of 130+MPH on 6S,
well above 120MPH on 5S, possibly 125+ MPH
No need for greater than 75A ESC.
or
16/30/2 2130KV
It can handle more AMPs than above...on 3S-5S (on 5S it can produce more power than above motor on 6S)
Power level and characteristics are VERY tunable with various props....same goes for motor above.
Weights only 0.8 o.z. more and can C.G. better for your heavier packs.
Costs extra $15-$20
For high end speed it can take more advantage of some of your bigger packs.
Capable of 140 MPH speed or little more.
75A ESC will work but I would spend extra $17(same weight & size) on 100A ESC incase I want to see what the motor could really do on top end (would really skip on 75A in favor of 100A ESC). I'm not recommending the 75A ESC, just saying that it could work, but you would be holding yourself back from motor's max capability of going a few AMPs over 100A at some point in future.
You did not answer all of my questions in previous post.
Both motors are GREAT, both are available as 5mm COMBAT shaft.
Pending your needs, you can just do your own build....lots of detail on this thread....Mopar has done a lot of documentation.
You can start with a simple build for low 100 MPH speed and then upgrade airframe later as your speed desires change or do a separate airframe build and just swap the motor and ESC over to it.
You have many options, but you need to comment more.
Moparmyway knows all the same stuff and he has been testing all of these motors along with me.
Both motors above have more capability than your initial description of power desired…I would not step down to 16/15/X,,,no way.
Do not buy till we do some more posts back and forth.
