Hmm... I didn't see it down myself and I was on there looking something up just before the time you posted your message.
I'm speculating:
I've seen Microsoft's Internet Explorer sometimes keep connections open to web pages even after it has closed out.
"Netstat -n" in a dos propt will reveal these links.
Since Windows has a limited number of permissable HTML connections, this can make a remote site seem to be down when it is not.
Typically if you wait for Windows to drop the connects ( about 5-9 minutes at worst ) then opening a new copy of the browser will allow you to see the site.
Also temporary routing problems may have been to blame.
