...just because some OS customer rep says something it doesn't mean anything to me at all.....
I tested it, proved it, you were wrong. Time to stop crying and get over it.
As I said before...OS engines have the best machining in the industry...I may agree a OS doesn't need to be sealed, however what a OS rep says about OS engines doe not apply to other engine brands..Unless were talking about OS engines what a OS engine rep says means nothing to me...If we were talking about OS engines then that would be a different story. OS has the machining and tolerances to allow for no sealing or worries, however a brand like kingstar cannot say the same thing...
I agree you tested something...however how can we even trust you were using Nitromethane ? i mean seriously all you proved is some blobs of RTV didn't melt in whatever clear liquid you used.....I guess we can take your word for it, but history has showed your more interested in arguing over the silliest points then you are in helping people on the forum....So to be honest I don't trust anything you say...
I mean look at the things I have advised people, first thing I advised is that there are better sealants to use then RTV...threebond 1211 or Lucky7 ...both products will outperform RTV by a big margin and are worth looking into..... And secondly I advised a guy to not run his engine with a ripped dust boot...... I mean I am offering such bad advise how can you guys help but to come after me ..... LOL

Why bother running a dust boot as they do nothing anyways, and while we are at it we might as well start not using air filters either.... these engines run just fine with no airfilters ......hell according to the manufacturers no engine ever needs to be sealed anyways..so we might as well stop that too...
IMO these engines are picky enough that a person should take every step possible to prevent any potential issues... Yes maybe some of the stuff may see like overkill to a novice, but after running these engines for 20 plus years I have seen all the problems happen over and over ... So I take every step I can can to prevent possible issues , I use the best sealants, the best bearings, the best o-rings, I seal every possible leak no matter what... I pressure test my carbs.. I even check all my bushing clearances.... And you know what, everywhere I go run my engines run like Clockwork and they scream..... IMO you get out of them what you put into them.....
