What a great story. I'm sure your Uncle could hold an audiance attention with many other stories of his experiences. Tell your Uncle thanks and I will share it with my aviation buddies. Last year we had a guest speaker at our EAA meeting and he spoke of his experiences as a crew chief. He also shared some interesting stories from his perspective as a member of the ground support team.

To bad the SR-71 is now retired but it lived a purposeful life gathering meaningful pics and info.
