No, but they can spew garbage over the public airwaves in
FCC Space pretty much scott free for anybody to hear in the US during times of Skip. Thats why I do alot of my talking on my Ham radios instead.
And if you are a ham operator, don't try to tell me how great the arrl is either. They are just another $ grubbing operation that started out as a good thing just like ama did years ago.
Like I said earlier somewhere here, when orgs get so big, they are just a festering pimple of greed. Its held true over the years for about all of'em. Look at the arrp, they sided up with obammy HC so they could sell more ins. Thats why they have just lost 150,000 members in the last few months.
