Do you guys realize you are replying to a 3 year-old post right?
chuckthedriver: the simulator requires a radio as an interface. If the radio you want to use requires batteries to work in trainer mode, then you will need batteries. Jut not necessarily AA batteries. The simulators that already come with a dummy radio in the software box, do not require batteries.
