Well, after some thinking......I am leaning towards entry into the RC car scene....specifically Nitro versions.

I am looking for a Ready To Run type so that I do not have to invest too much in support equipment (starter-if required, battery, Tx, etc).

After searching around, I am leaning towards the Traxxas SLAYER as my choice.

This will be my first 'real' RC car, I do have experience in RC (helicopters) but not in cars. I do not want to exceed $500 total for car and basic support equipment.....just enough gear to get me roling down the track with the new car. With time, I can amass more support equipment.

I currently have a charger from my RC helicopter that can charge LiPo (1-3 cells), NiCad/NiMh(1-10 cells). That should take care of the charger.


Is the Slayer a good choice for my first RC car?
