RE: how too rate a Hobby store customer service?
I have 3 hobby shops within reasonable driving distance from my home, 20 min, 30 min, and 40 min. I haven't been pleased with any of their customer service at one time or another. I've been ignored, insulted, and looked at like I'm stupid when I ask a question. Needless to say, I don't patronize these shops unless I'm in the neighborhood for something else. I've found it much more helpful and cheaper to ask questions on RC forums and buy parts on line. Shipping is generally cheaper than driving 1 hour round trip or more only to find out they don't have what I need or have them roll their eyes at me. I'd drive farther to a well stocked store with a knowledgeable proprietor knowing I'd be satisfied when I left.
That said, I've put money back in my pocket and left a store when a proprietor answers a ringing phone and, rather than saying, "I'm waiting on a customer; please hold," goes on to answer phone questions on what he has in stock. [:@] I refuse to beg anyone to take my money.
