Ideally the throttle linkage should be of a non-conductive material. Addtionally the kill switch should be as far as possible from anything related to the RX system. Six inches should be "OK".

Do a range check, note the range engine off and then do another range check engine on at say half throttle an observe if there is a problem. In the even there is not a problem your good to go. If you have a problem you have to make some descisions.
