Well, Here are the pic's of my F-35 all done up. She went up for the first time today and man did she fly sweet. No trim was needed and took her off from a grass runway. I got this one used. It was just the air frame, retracts and fan unit. The fuse had some damage to it so I filled in the dents and gave it a coat of WB-poly-U and repainted it a gloss black with orange trim on the tail and wings. I put the womo 70 mm fan and H/M The Beast motor in her pulling 90 amps and putting out 1200 watts. It has the lights and after burner kit from EJF and man you can see the tail cone bright red even in the day light. Ran it on a 4s 35C 3000 pack so I had to cut away some of the battery tray to make it fit. I am also running a UBEC and a 100 amp Sky Wing ESC. I also used 2-Hitec HS-81mg servo's in the tail and 2-Cirrus CS402/BB 18 gram servo's in the wings. The CG was right on at 100 mm and no extra weight was needed. Ready to fly with the battery she came in at 3 lbs 5 oz's. Had my timer set for 5 min for the first flight but I think I can get 6 or 7 min out of the pack as it was only slightly warm after 5 min. Did a few low high speed passes and pulled straight up at the end of the run till it was a dot in the sky. Man I love this jet. Now I have to get some 5s packs for more get up and go[8D]. If you look at the pic's right under the canopy where the pilot sits are lights on both sides and one near the tail. The landing light is mounted right on the front retract strut and you can see the after burner lights right under the thrust tube. I got the pilot from Toys R Us for 2.99 just the right size for the jet.

Keep em flying
I would really like to hear how the retracts are holding up on the grass field. I have been holding off becuase my club field is grass, but if it works for you ;-)
Well, I have about 15 flights on her so far and the mains are holding up just fine flying off of grass. The nose gear did bend a little bit back after a flight. I did put a lite ply block right behind the nose gear steering servo to stop some of it. But I am gonna put a larger size wire in the nose gear when it does give out. Or might even go with the new X-Flight electric retracts for 90 mm size jets.

Keep em flying
