is it possible for the telelmetry eventually to be released to the public? so that perhaps that things like eagle tree eloggers can interface to it?

Do you mean, is it possible for the software to be open source? I don't think it will and I wont blame Hitec if they kept the TX and their peripherals to the A9 only and vice verse.
