AnAlternateEgo:

The landing gear mod may be more than you want to tackle. What's wrong with the gear? First the gear strut has a chicken leg, its bent forward. Not scale and can't use an "oleo" type strut. Second, the wheels are too small for scale. I need the oleos as all my landings are not perfect. Also I fly off grass so need the largest wheels that I can use. Third, I have never found any of the mechinical rotating retracts satisfactory. They just don't hold up. I suppose if you fly off a smooth paved runway and all your landings are perfect they might work ok for a while. I just have not had good luck with any of them.

All that said, the airplane flys nice for a P-40. In fact I've got a rear carb 20cc gasser which will fit completedly in the cowling with pit type muffler and am thinking of getting another BH P-40.
