I bought a fighterbird a few weeks ago, it is about the same plane as the firebird except it comes with the combat module. It will definatly fly. I have since purchased a Hobbico Avistar to try my thumbs out on a fuel powered plane. I can't really comment much since I am a newbie myself. In any event, have fun and good luck
