Here is what I did with my cowl. The hood scoop is very simple. Just cut 3 slices and 2 plywood wedges. Seems to work fine!
The boat is pretty old now and in need of a paint job but is still fast and handles well. I also notched the radio box before gluing for the 1/8" plexiglass lid so I can use tape to seal it (much better then screws)
I liked the boat so much I have a spare kit in the attic.
