I have had my DX6i apart several times with out any problem. I had one of the trim buttons mess up. Spektrum sent me two new ones which I keep as spares as I got the aluminum ones to put in all the trim buttons as I do not think they will ever break.
Maybe the DX7 is different.

I have a buddy here whos DX6i just broke. The roller switch gave way which is the weak point on that radio. He tried to repair it to no avail. I have to figure that something within the case is broken. Its been so long since I was in my old 6i I dont recall what that part looked like inside. Anyways, he is looking for a broken 6i that perhaps he can rob either for the case or the needed parts.
