The key issue I see (having been around pattern for over 30 years) is that guys will flock to the newest and most powerful, not the one that makes most sense. Will spend ungodly sums of money to get that too.
The current engine is a 36cc X 30 cc. A 39 cc x 34 cc would bring the displacement up to 40 cc. If the engine was designed to run as sweet as this one, then the new one would operate better than the YS.
The main point of the previous post was that we don't NEED anything more than the SAP will do for us. BUT pattern people don't care if there is something that is perceived better

I am hoping that having a relatively inexpensive model that doesn't cost so much to operate will give me more practice time. Looking at the Pattern schedules, at least up to Masters it doesn't appear there are any maneuvers that the Focus/SAP 180 is not able to handle... with a capable pilot on the sticks.
