A transmitter, transmits on the frequency marked on the crystal, but in a receiver like yours the incoming frequency is mixed with the receivers local oscillators frequency and the result of both these frequency’s is what the receiver tunes into, that is why your receiver crystal is a different from your transmitter. The frequency you receive is acutely the result of the 72.130 receiver frequency combined with the local oscillator frequency to equal your transmitter frequency of 72.870.
http://<font size=''4'' color=''#...nt><font size=''4''><span lang=''EN''> does not know what he is talking about, another ignorant person giving wrong advice about something they know nothing about. please don’t waste your money on buying two transmitter or two receiver crystals. There is a reason one is called a transmitter crystal and the other is called a receiver crystal, because they are different.

"Ignorant", very interesting word for you to use.
I wonder why the sell crystals in sets (same frequency). Maybe you should take a look at your crystals in your transmitter & receiver.
